Luke Skywalker's Step-Parents Are Back for New Star Wars Disney+ Show

The next Star Wars Walt Disney+ TV series is going to make the family drama ofThe Mandalorian look pretty tame aside equivalence. AfterThe Book of Boba Fett, the next big Genius Wars show off isObi-Wan Kenobi, a series starring Ewan McGregor As Obi-Wan, during his time of exile along the major planet Tatooine, better called the home major planet of the whole Skywalker family. And, just to reach things interesting, it's just been announced thatObi-Wan Kenobi wish have the return of Luke's step-parents, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru! Get fit for some rowdy co-parenting between Saint Luke's aunt and uncle, Obi-Wan and, Luke's defaulter dad, Darth Vader.

StarWars.comhas precisely announced the smooth swan of the upcoming serialObi-Wan Kenobi. In addition to Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprising their roles as Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker severally, Lucasfilm has revealed: "joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Fair Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jn., Song Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie."

The supporting cast is diverse and discriminating. (Who the hell is Kumail Nanjiani playing? He's brilliant!) But, for those of United States who camped-unfashionable at midnight to seeAttack of the Clones in 2002, two other name calling areverynotable: Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse, World Health Organization both played Owen and Beru — Luke's future aunt and uncle — in 2 Adept Wars prequels. Originally, the roles of Uncle Owen and Auntie Beru were played by Phil Brown and Shelagh Fraser for the 1977 Starring Wars. Equally you may recall, they last-up totally fried by some Imperial stormtroopers, leading Luke to bring together Obi-Pale on his quest to find oneself Princess Leia.

But, in Attack of the Clones(2002) and Retaliation of the Sith (2005) Edgerton and Piesse retroactively became the younger versions of the Lars couple, and now that they'ray returning, forObeah-Unanimated Kenobi, they'll be reprising those roles. This is kindhearted of a big distribute, considering that the new show takes point a decade subsequentlyRevenge of the Sith, meaning Luke Skywalker is probably a 10-year-old kid at this point, being raised aside Owen and Beru.

In the original Star topology Wars film, Luke completelyknows Obi-Wan Kenobi, World Health Organization He calls "Long-ago Ben." But why? More or less humorous books have toyed with an earlier meeting of five-year-old Luke and Kenobi, but now that this usher is upcoming it seems very likely that Ben Kenobi wish meet little kid Luke face-to-face. But, based connected how Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru act in the classic 1977 film, they're not going to be super-happy some Obi-Wan meeting their adopted boy. Will Obi-Wan babysit for boyish Luke while Owen and Beru have a go out night at the Mos Eisely cantina, getting wasted on Jawa Juice? It could happen!

Even without Darth Vader in the mix (and atomic number 2 is in the mix!), information technology looks like the Superstar Wars franchise is set to deliver another action-packed Television series, which, ultimately is centralized connected childcare. We'Ra overexcited to see how that shapes up in a galaxy, far, far by.

Obi-Unanimated Kenobi wish hit Disney+ sometime after 2021.
